Landscape Design: Classic Garden Style
This distinctive classical garden in Hazelwood Park was landscaped by Gardens with Style, an award-winning design and construction company based in Adelaide.
The success of the garden and the poolside area lies in the fact that it works so beautifully with the Georgian architecture of the home. The formal planting scheme of Buxus ‘Faulkner’, hellebores, roses and ornamental pears creates a tranquil, lush backdrop and is a perfect foil for the home’s formal façade.
The landscaping has created a beautiful private space for entertaining and enjoying the pool. Selective, well-placed garden features and the use of Haddonstone pavers complete the look and add an understated sophistication to the garden.
Designers Ben Knapp and Jan Fisher worked in close collaboration with the owners to achieve a result that truly enhances the property. Attention to design and construction detail was imperative; matching bricks, pavers, pots and garden features to the home has ensured the garden blends seamlessly with the architecture.
“These discerning owners wanted the garden to reflect their style. They were also quite specific in their construction requirements,” says Ben Knapp. “They wanted the paving to be ‘millimetre perfect’ and the construction of the walls and the landscaping to be undertaken with meticulous care.
This brief did not present a problem for the team at Gardens with Style as attention to detail is a hallmark of their approach. They pride themselves on creating gardens that are designed and constructed to an excellent standard. They believe it is this approach and their strong customer focus that set their company apart.
The true test has been the response of the owners. “The owners have been so pleased with the result that they have engaged Gardens with Style to undertake further landscaping work at their country property,” says Ben. “It is this result that Gardens with Style strives to achieve with each and every client and it is a measure of our success that so many past clients look no further when undertaking more landscaping projects.”
